Clearly I have an addiction to cheese

So every few Fridays, we like to have a little field trip for lunch.

We’ve gone for grilled cheese and awesome sandwiches, but recently we decided on burgers. Thanks to an amazing deal on Team Buy, my coworker M and I were able to get coupons for $16 worth of grub at Burger Bar for $8!

SCORE!

So we moseyed on over to Kensington and strapped on the feedbag for some delicious Saag Paneer Poutine from the Burger Barmeat and POUTINE!!!

But not just any poutine my friends, Saag Poutine.

I know you’re saying, what the eff, right? But it was quite tasty. Although parts of it were bland as the spices were a bit concentrated in spots, it was overall worth a try but definitely split it with a friend.

Saag paneer is one of the few Indian dishes that I actually like, so I will willingly gobble it up any chance I get but french fries are something I don’t always go for.

Burger Bar's Lyon - Goat Cheese, Arugula and DijonBut on to why we’re all here – the burger.

I, of course, got a 6 oz. cheese burger (hello, captain obvious!) with brie (wheeee!) and M got the Lyon (Goat cheese, Arugula & Dijon), pictured at left.

Um…So we came here for burgers but the focus of our lunch seems to be cheese. There’s a theme on this blog…or in my life…or something. Is there a 12-step program for this? I kind of hope there isn’t.

Another awesome thing about the Burger Bar are the buns! I did ask for a gluten-free bun, which are available (HUGE bonus), but couldn’t tell if I actually received it. There were some crusty patrons that took away our server’s attention so I didn’t want to be a pest.

We both enjoyed the burgers. They were tasty and quite substantial, so much so that we couldn’t finish the poutine.

We did have trouble using the Team Buy coupons because they were both in MY name, something that was NOT clear when they were ordered online, but the owner was super cool and let us off the hook, so we left our waitress a nice tip. Plus, she was given a raw deal earlier from those surly patrons who obviously were lost looking for McDonald’s.

So, with the gourmet burgers being the “in” thing in Toronto now, I’m sure this won’t the first and last burger we go out and try!

Are burgers a big thing in your neck of woods? Is it just a big city things? Is there a burger war brewing in your town? What new place have you checked out recently that you liked? Let a mouse know…especially if it involves cheese.

Whenever I crave something, it always seems to be a big, fat, juicy bacon cheeseburger.

There's a new burger joint in the Southwest called "Smashburger". It is exceptionally yummy with the best onion rings I've ever had.

*sigh* Bacon cheeseburger *sigh*

I am a big fan of the burger, but I have it bunless. I swooned when I saw that they have gluten free buns. Now my life is complete...

Im the same way....it's all about the cheese on everything I order...

WHEN I come to TO, we're doing an entire dinner of cheese...it's going to be a dream come true.

We'll also make home-made Dark and Stormys...

Wow...I think this trip needs to happen sooner than later...

Hey Mousie!

This is completely unrelated to this blog post, but I was wondering when you were going to do another vlog? You're one insightful chicka and always have something interesting to say :)

Take care!

Once in awhile I just want a burger. I love them! Very simple but delicious. I went to Burger Bar on College/Yonge and it was so good...mmmm. I ordered a poutine but there was a mixup and I didn't realize I just got fries until I got home---still waiting to try their poutine, it looks delicious too!
