So say you agree to do a 30km race with a friend, a race that is a lot longer than any run that you’ve done before and that you haven’t really been training for that faithfully…yet.
Say your friendly sends you a message on facebook last night telling you that she has a pretty serious injury and now can’t run for a month, effectively pulling her out of the race.
Would you still run the race?
Do you still challenge yourself even though the only reason you were running it is gone?
Do you go and push your limits now instead of taking it easy and being there for someone else?
Thoughts? Feelings? Opinions?
Put yourself in my stinky running shoes and hit me up in the comments.
Oh, and if you’re looking for an entry to the SOLD OUT Around the Bay Road Race, email me. I can hook you up with Amy’s bib.

13 nibbles at the cheese:
If I was a liar I would say sure I would go ahead and run, but since I'm not and like to keep it real...hell no I wouldn't run. But you are a way better person then me so I think you should do it. I know you can, mouse. Go for it!!!!
I think you can do it, if you keep your eye on the prize. 30Kms is a real accomplishment, training for it will make winter go by faster :)

I feel the same way as Mel. I probably wouldn't do it, but that is why I have 80lbs that I need to lose. I'm too much of a couch potato (although I'm working on changing that!). You can do it though....I believe in ya.
I think you should run with me and my friend Donna! We're not going to be super fast, just want to finish upright, uninjured and smiling!
H =)
I would run it! You've still go plenty of time... I pointed Amy to a TriRudy post looking for a bib.
Run run run!
Still do it! Especially since you've now told us all why you could wuss out . . . We'll be cheering you on the whole way!
DO. IT. You'll love yourself for it afterward. Promise. :)
I probably wouldn't, if I hadn't been training faithfully and really wasn't into it.
That said, if you're looking for a push, GO!! YOU CAN DO IT!! I BELIEVE IN YOU.
do it! you still have time to train. think of how awesome you'll feel after you've done it. that and you'll miss out on meeting me if you don't do it!
Will you be more sorry if you do or don't run it? That's what always helps me decide.
I would spend a lot of time talking myself out of running it. Each run would be filled with “I’m so not going to run it”. Then I would run it anyways b/c I just can’t quit on myself. Then through the entire race I’ll say to myself “what the eff were you thinking running this race”. Then I would be done and very happy that I did it and knowing that yet again I fulfilled a promise to myself. If you can do it (ugly or not) then why not?
(But if you think you would injure yourself then don’t!)
