Um…do you see what I see?
What the hell happened to chocolate milk?
Does this mean I’m not drinking milk, but some other milk like concoction?
Will I grow a tail or something?
What the hell is up with this?

16 nibbles at the cheese:
I wonder what they have added to it to make it a dairy beverage. Or, maybe the regulations on what you can call "milk" have been made stricter.
Either way, "dairy beverage" are 2 of the most alarming food words in the English language :)
Shaking head... I'll stick to adding chocolate syrup to my skim milk...
Weird!
Wow. That is brutal!! I wonder exactly what about it keeps them from being able to write the word "milk".
Scary!!!
Ok so this made me curious. I remember seeing a sale in the flyer this week for chocolate "milk" and check this out:
Beatrice Website:
http://www.beatrice.ca/products.php?p=base
Notice the lack of them even listing the product on their website?!
Neilson Website:
http://www.neilsondairy.com/en/index.htm
Listed AND specifically calling it "milk"
Hmmmmm. You've got me all paranoid now!! ha.
Hopefully it isn't as bad as when Bart Simpson was drinking "malk."
That is a bit disturbing.
And I have to disagree with Laura--the most alarming words in the English language are "edible oil product!"
Is there an ingredient list?
interesting....
Skim milk + nesquik.
"Dairy beverage" just sounds wrong.
oh man...that is just crazy!
I am cracking up over the "will I grow a tail" portion of your post. Now THAT is the question of the day. I love your humor. OK, so I have to ask......did you drink it? Was it gross? Inquiring minds.
I know I never leave you a comment, but I had to come out of "stalker / lurking mode" to let you know how funny you are. :)
Yeah. this is a drag. i don't think it tastes the same either. The ingredients list "modified milk ingredients" and "reconstituted skim milk powder" in addition to real milk. Now i really want an old carton to compare it to. Weren't the old ones actual 1% milk?
The amount of protein has also decreased in this new 'chocolate dairy beverage'. There used to be 8.5 grams/serving...now there is only 6 grams/serving. This must mean that they've replaced real milk with modified ingredients. Scary.
It is actualy half whey, waste from making cheese.
