Making the best of your situation

I go to warm up my lunch, and I pass a manager in the narrow hallway. I smile politely at her. I had a meeting this morning with her where she didn't bite my head off, like she normally does with others in the office. I kind of like this happy thing on her. I go back to my desk for a minute and then return to the kitchen. She breezes past me again, this time I notice she's wearing white running shoes that stand out against her black and grey dress pants. Weird. So here I sit in my cubicle, eating my stew and trying to catch up on all of that personal stuff I don't really have time for at work. She has passed by eight times in the last 10 minutes. Who knew the hallway was a track? So, what kind of exercise have you tried to squeak in when pressed for time or it's too cold or you can't afford a gym membership? and there she goes again.

Too funny :)
I started wearing my pedometer to work, so I can make sure I get at least 5000 steps in while I'm at work! now I take the 'long' way back from my desk from the printer. You may not need to put the white tennies on though.

When I lived in the boonies...too far to drive to the gym every day...I used to do calf raises and lungers standing on our basement stairs. Just as effective as doing them on some dumb bench at the gym. :)

I don't suppose typing really fast counts.

OK this was a long time ago. When I was working, if I needed to haul stock in an elevator and was by myself I'd do a bunch of front kicks.

I walk up the stairs are regualr intervals....about 6-10 flights, whatever I feel like at the time ;)

My coworkers and I actually lace up our sneakers at lunch and walk up 1 flight of stairs, cross to the other side of the building and then up another flight from 1-11. And then we run all the way back down to the bottom and then do that again 2 more times. It's actually super fun though I don't think I'd be interested in doing it by myself!

When my 2 yr old and I are playing around on the floor, I'll find new ways to use her as a weight and give her a ride at the same time :) She's really good for pilates style ab moves and working quads and hamstrings. She's getting a bit too heavy for too many reps of arm work :) The only problem is when she wants to do it for longer then I'm able to! It's almost like working out with a tiny, laughing version of Jillian from Biggest Loser, she just won't let you stop!
