I heart technology

I had to switch offices on Friday. I now live in cubicle land and no longer have a door to close for privacy. It's bittersweet, really. I like the extra space I am now afforded but... See, my computer in the office was great. It had all of the software I needed to create brochures and documents and a nice big flat panel monitor. I am thankful just to have work at all....but when you can't even LOG INTO YOUR FREAKIN COMPUTER FOR AN ENTIRE DAY, it makes you a tad bit bitter. I knew about this Friday afternoon and went through the proper channels to get it fixed. At 4p.m. today I was still sitting there twiddling my thumbs as everything I needed was on a drive that I couldn't access without logging in and there are no other PCs available in the office. It left me wondering how I can actually do my job without a computer and how people functioned before :P

aw, there are no words for how much that SUCKS!!!

Danny had a day like that and everybody kept asking why he wasn't logging in and fixing their computers...well his login didn't work anymore and he no longer had access to the server room...someone had terminated him in the system (though he still worked there)...BLAH!

How frustrating. My computer has started random rebooting, and I have threatened to send it for an assisted suicide out the window, but I always give it another chance. Thankfully I only have to put up with it for a few more days.

Here's to a better tech Tuesday!

This is hilarious, because just on Thursday my co-worker spilled water all over his laptop. He immediately brought it to tech support and after it dried about 24 hours later it was fine.. but for a whole work day - he was computer-less... and able to get almost NO real work done!! We were talking about how ridiculously dependent we are on computers... it's insane.

Working in the recruitment biz I always think about what it must've been like when you had to read resumes on paper and everything had to be faxed and mailed! Can not even imagine!!

virtually blowing a raspberry at your IT people... :)
our offices just moved and a 'specialist' was supposed to come and hook up my computer on Monday - I waited until 1pm, no sign of the guy, so I decided to hook it up myself, it's Tuesday night and he hasn't showed up yet, ha...
Good luck with you computer troubles, it's so frustrating to lose access to your tools!

I was wondering just two days ago how people functioned before google? I mean, what would you have to do before to find our the answers to life's random questions?
