When the mighty fall

...there is always someone there to pick them up. There are several people who inspired me to join Weight Watchers. One of them was my friend G. We used to ride the subway together several mornings a week, from the beaches into the core. She would tell me about life and we'd gossip, making the commute to work much shorter. One day, she told me about Weight Watchers and how easy it was. I remember trying it really half assed, getting materials from my sister-in-law who was also on the program. It never worked out, but it did work for G. Fast forward to now, and G. and I work together. She's looking to lose weight and back on Weight Watchers. I am so impressed with her drive and determination to lose the weight and she told me that I was an inspiration to her, as well as another coworker M. who has recently reached goal. It has definitely given me the kick in the arse that I need when I want to eat junk. I know we all don't AIM to be poster-children for weight loss programs, and many times we don't get to put a REAL face to the people who say they learn so much from us, yet there are people watching. And there's G., sitting a few feet away from me. There's no hiding what I'm eating, when I'm snacking and the bad choices I may make. She can make good choices, stay on plan and count her points. She shares her successes and defeats, and looks for advice to stay on track. So I have no excuse not to as well. Because she inspires me.

That's how it works, you inspire a person and at the same time are inspired by that same person. You both get something from the other. Fabulous!

Big ups to both you and G == everybody finds their own path, but it's so nice when we wave and cheer for each other along the way. Hmmm... that kind of sounds like some sort of inspirational poster with a kitten on it. Eh, it's late...that's what I got! :)

It's just paying it forward! It's funny that you wrote about this because last week I was really slacking with my points, exercise, and the whole schabang. I had a teacher come up to me and ask how I've been, how much more I've lost, how I continue to do it. Well that put me in my place. People are watching and that's a good thing because they inspire me to keep it up!! Keep on inspiring and being inspired mouse.

Isn't it funny how that works? I too get inspired by the people who are inspired by me. It really kicks your ass into gear.
