Athletic Supporter

So Jammer has decided to go back to the gym and do a "schedule" of things so that she commits. I, of course, have to come along for the ride... At first she mentions Aquafitness, which I balk at seeing as I spent the greater part of my youth working in recreation centres where aquafit was taught. All that I remember is OLDER adults coming in with flowered swim caps. Not. My. Thing. So then she drops yoga on me. Now, this is the girl who has sworn up and down that she has no interest in yoga and will never do it. But off we went. Watching Jammer try to bend into preztel shapes all the while sniffing because of her cold was HILARIOUS. The best part was when the class turned around to do warrior and she was now, essentially, at the front. The deer caught in headlights look was priceless (especially with the drippy, red nose). After, the instructor came up to us, asking how we liked it and what type of yoga I had done before. When Jammer figured out that our Hatha class was actually a slower class, so to speak, she freaked out again. But she's still determined to keep going. And I'll be there to laugh at her sorry ass :)

one of my favorite things in the world is when the OWNER of my local yoga studio runs to the back corner of the room and gets all settled only to have her instructor turn us all around so that we are staring at her little corner. Deer in the headlights is it exactly.

speaking of deer - I dearly love my yoga classes - they have taught me how to move and balance my body. I didn't know before - I do now.

That's the best reason I've ever heard for trying yoga. :)

Happy Halloween!

Baha! My boss actually had to run out of the class because she burst out in uncontrollable laughter when the class was learning one of the "breathing" techniques. She couldn't even handle it, she had to leave and never look back. lol

Jammer talks a big game, but we'll see if she's still interested in going next week.

I'll be going, though. I neglected yoga all summer and it felt good to loosen up again.

Maybe you could try yoga wearing a flowered swim cap, just to get the "everyone's looking at me" feeling out of the way from the outset.
