Reisens & Reasons

Hell week is over. More like interrupted for a break thanks to employment standards, but over none the less. I'm sitting in front of a bowl of Riesens that I bought on a whim at Shoppers with the Candy Lady because they were on sale. By the way, someone bought her a gum ball machine recently and she filled it full of gourmet jelly beans. Hate. Them. Passionately. So far, I've had one Riesen and I'm keeping the wrapper on my desk as a reminder. So far, so good. Now, usually this is the time of year I get all weepy and sad because my birthday is next week (no flowers - money is good :P), but this year I've experienced so much positive change that I really don't have a reason to be all moody and glum, even with the chef making his departure from my life last week. So here are my reasons that life is super kickass. Feel free to add your reasons in the comments as I would love to know why life is good, great and wonderful. We need some pep around here, especially since I'm surrounded by a lot of heavy stuff at work: So life is good because...
  • I have a job that I actually enjoy and makes me want to get out of bed every day and go to (even at the ass crack of dawn).
  • My mom always tell me she loves me when she calls me.
  • there are super fantastic friends out there who support me in good times and bad.
  • Of GELATO! :P
  • I'm no longer afraid to take risks. I have discovered my backbone and don't have to hide behind words all of the time.
  • My birthday is in five days and no one ever believes me when I tell them I'll be 29.
  • My nieces get the goofiest, most excited looks on their faces when they see me and it absolutely melts my heart.
  • No one questions why I wear mouse ears at my desk
  • I am allowed to be creative in my work.
  • I don't need others to define me.
  • I get to hang out with FABULOUS women this weekend. That means YOU, Sarah :)

Your turn :)

Awww.... thanks, Marie! :) I feel so loved.

And I'm sad for you that chefboy is gone :(

Your life is also fabulous because you are so confident and so strong and you're not gonna take any crap offa anybody!

I'm glad to hear that hell week is over. I feel like I should offer some sympathy about your upcoming birthday. 28 was an amazing life-changing year for me. I was so sad to see it go, I was actually depressed on my birthday (which NEVER happens). FYI, 29 was pretty damn great, too.

Gelato's awesome, so are you. I'm sorry that the chef has left. I don't know what else to say about that.

It's so nice to hear you talk about how life is good. It makes me stop and take inventory on my end.

I agree that life is wonderful right now!

Why?

*My lovely 19-year-old cousin is coming for the weekend!

*They just opened a new connecting road which makes my commute so much easier.

*My sheets are clean.

*This weekend is the art fair!

Yaaieee Miss Positivity!

Now, chef boy will be back right? He just went to his cottage in the boonies?

If not, what a goof!

Life is good because...

* There are always good sappy movies to be found at the video store

* Bloggerworld keeps us all on our toes

* The support of online "friends" is becoming just as great as the real thing

* Because you are smart, funny, and beautiful (as am I, dammit!)

Have a great weekend Miss Mouse.

WOOOHOOO!

Awesomeness everywhere!

There will be no second course for the chef. I won't bash him in this forum either.

Only the high road!

Onwards and upwards!

WHEEEEEEEEE!

Life is good because

- I had great wine and food with good friends last night

- Normie slept through the night in the bed this morning, and didn't fart once! Not much beats a snuggly puppy in the morning.

- It's warm and sunny out today, and it's supposed to stay that way (fingers crossed)

- I have had the privilege of getting to know you as a friend over the past year and a bit, and my life is so much better for it.

If I don't see you tomorrow, have a fantastic birthday!

Life is good because ... I'm going to be turning 27 in two days and like you no one can believe it ... everyone thinks I look much younger. That will be a huge bonus when I'm 50 and dont' look it :)
