Chicken Soup for the mouse

Ok, seriously - I don't know if it was something I ate the other day from the sandwich shop in my office building or what, but I have been feeling like general arse the last few days. The only thing getting me through is knowing that people care about me, seeing how everyone is doing so well and looking forward to big plans that I have on the horizon. But I have no desire to cook, eat or exercise (mostly because I feel like I want to vomit every five seconds). So riddle me this, my fine friends - how do you get through a not quite illness but general malaise? Does chicken soup really cure all? Do you suck it up and get on that treadmill anyway? Do you have a meal that makes you feel better instantaneously? Share your tips with a mouse. Oh - and birthday shout outs to Sarah, Mere and Aunt Mojo. Couldn't think of three more wonderful ladies to share a day.

Awww, Mouse, I'm sorry you're sick.

When I have a tummy bug, I try to follow the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, tea & toast) and sip flat ginger ale. Saltines also work.

When I'm sick, too, I want all my drinks to be COLD. Lots of ice cubes in EVERYTHING.

Oh, and stay away from the cheese. Dairy does not sit well on an upset tummy.

And thank you for the bday wishes :)

Boo on being sick :(

I rarely suck it up when I have a stomach issue. A mild cold, maybe, but not if I'm feeling queasy. So don't let yourself feel guilty about that!

I generally do what Sarah does, although I didn't know bananas and apples were safe! Saltines and Cheerios are my foods of choice, plus beaucoup de liquid.

Hope you feel better soon, and thanks for the birthday wishes :)

I'm definitely a soup girl. Anything simple and straight forward food-wise, pretty much.

I wasn't sick, rather PMSing, but I threw on my running clothes and went out for my scheduled run yesterday. For a variety of reasons, including general female discomfort, I gave up halfway through, but at least I got something in.

Feel better soon!

I find that when I feel like absolute ass, the though of getting on the treadmill is basically the LAST thing in the world I want to do is exercise but 10 times out of 10, if I do drag my ass on there, I always always always feel much better after I've sweat it out. Probably not what you want to hear though :)

General malaise? I say get outside... Go for a walk with some music or the radio - don't "exercise" but move. It'll make you feel better, both physically and mentally.

Also - make a "gym date" with someone (like me - Body Pump on Monday? I'll check back here for your response).

Hope you kick the 'bug' this weekend. And if it persists, go to the doctor.

*smooches* to the birthday girls!
Germ free, to boot.

Sally - I'm always at BP on Mondays with my fave boyz for pump. We're up at the front. 6:30pm. BE THERE!

yay I'm generally a loser when I'm feeling down in the dumps - I take a nap. Can't get much lazier than that!!

Tea and toast is the newfoundland cure for everything ;)

I also like a slow walk when I feel a little sicky.

I'm so sorry to hear that you have been feeling so awful. I hate being sick! I hope you feel better soon. I'm a chicken noodle fan although when I'm down I make my hubby make me a French Onion soup. I swear it cures me every time!!
