Someone needs to bottle that sh*t up...

Because they're doing something right. I'm talking about Syd the kid...and not Sidney Crosby because I couldn't give a rat's patootie about that wonder kid (well, maybe if I was 10 years younger and NOT a habs fan...but I digress). I'm talking about the superstar that is my niece and her parents, my brother Stephen and his wife Jeanette. They're raising a child who has a love for creative movement...and vegetables. Yeah, she's completely nutters. And completely adorable. And named after me. You could eat her up with a spoon, I tell ya. So we're assembled to watch her dancing school's show last night, my parents, two of my amazing aunts, my brother and his wife and my other amazing niece Erin, and we're just astounded by her talent and energy at such a young age. ...and the fact that she does NOT stop dancing when she's supposed to, like the other girls do. Most parents force sports, dance, recreational activities on a child to motivate them to stay healthy. This child CRAVES it. She gallops around a room doing her sevens and threes and will one day break a lamp or two with her flailing legs. And what does this child do after displaying her talents on stage? Does she raid the buffet table for cookies and cakes? Not really. She fills it full of fruit and carrots and a lone tart. Who is this child? Coming from a family where discussions constantly swirl around about being "genetically predisposed" to being overweight, this child is a ray of freakin sunshine...or a freak of nature. It's those discussions that always make me mad and this child that brings it right back to the forefront. She's active. She eats well. She's got it right. Calories in and calories out. Why can't we follow Syd's example? She really is a good teacher, you know? Whatever way you slice it, her enthusiasm is contagious, she only wants to see everyone have a good time and she chows down on a carrot like NO BODY'S business. And she dances no matter who is watching.

I love how kids can just have "it" naturally

Named after you? Am I missing something Marie = Sdyney? or is it Mouse and Mouseketeer?

There have been many days I've wished I could bottle up my kids energy. It is great that you can enjoy the time with them. So do we get to see dancing pictures?
