Whatchu fightin for?

Challenges are great. They can shake you out of a slump, test your limits and expand your breadth of knowledge or experience. In the most recent Runner's World, they’ve issued a weight loss challenge where four runners are following an eating and training plan to improve their physiques and running times. One only needs to lose a few pounds in the hopes of shaving off precious minutes before the Boston marathon while another is looking to lose 25+lbs and run a two hour half. …and it’s THAT story that inspires me. The Runner's World site features blogs from each participant, outlining their trials and tribulations throughout the challenge and any of us can easily identify with Kate’s struggles and triumphs, even if you’re not a runner (yet :P). I suggest you check them out just to see how the other side lives and maybe get a few pointers if you’re so inclined. As for me, I’m starting a challenge of my own next week. I’ll be linking up with a well-known Canadian food and grocery company, using their products and doing a healthy eating challenge for four weeks. They have yummy products that are VERY Weight Watchers friendly and that we all know and love so it should be an interesting month. I discovered their little welcome package at my door last night, complete with an environmentally friendly shopping bag and addressed to mousearoo, and I was GIDDY with glee. So stay tuned next week as mouse shakes it up and gets fit and healthy…again!

Mouse,
Thanks for linking to that site. I'd never been there before and found lots of helpful information to help me start my own challenge. Much obliged!

I'm de-lurking to say that I *love* your blog. You're an inspiration! (And a fellow Torontonian, which is cool).

Despite being a runner, and even a subscriber to the magasine, I have never visited their website! Thanks for the link honey bunny!
