Oh right! I signed up for THAT!

I sent an email to my brother the other day because I had found these hilarious little treats on another blog. We then spiralled into another conversation about meeting up for a family get-together and some errands he had to run beforehand. Errands I was baffled by as I didn't understand why he was making t-shirts but they were for a tournament he was going to in Ottawa this upcoming weekend. and then I started piecing it all together... He was going to Ottawa the same weekend I was running the Harry Rosen Spring Run-Off 8k. Crappity-Crap-Crap. That's this Saturday, genius. (ha! I spelled that wrong at first - even better! bwahahahha) Luckily the weather is getting super fantastic again, the snow banks have all but melted away (leaving a treasure trove of garbage behind and revealing someone's skeleton of a Christmas tree on my front lawn. Last time I checked I had a fake one, thanks. My neighbours are balls.), so running should be most excellent this weekend. But am I in "racing form?" I run on the gerbil wheel often enough but am only getting outside two days a week max and am not running straight through at a good pace. I am le freaking out for no good reason. I think mostly because it's an unfamiliar race to me having never run the course before. It's not a matter of being afraid to run a race per se because that's easy peasy, but not having a good race, being less than middle of the pack (which is where I usually am and am happy to be as I know I'm a recreational runner and NOT a superstar athlete) or hurting myself somehow. Is this silly?

I think sometimes that little bit of anxiety or fear is good.

It shows that you care about the race, and that you want to run the best mouse race that you can.

You can do eeeeeet.

I agree with Carolyn, a little anxiety is good, gets the adrenaline pumping! you CAN do it!

You are one silly girlie!! Did you not run 2 Half Marathons in a span of 2 weeks? How long are they again? Oh yeah, 21k. How long it this - 8k? Do I think you will rock it - hells yeah!!

I just looked at the course - pretty easy. Mostly flat and a little downhill. Except for the final leg - all uphill to the finish. And it is a hard hill (Justin and I do hill training on it), so maybe do some hill training this week?

Anyways, can't wait to read another race report!

Marie my sweet.. you're gonna rock that itty bitty 8k.

Its weird, once I got out of long distance running... 8k seemed like forever. But now that I'm back at it, 8k is like peanuts.

Get out there and rock it!

ps- Go Habbies!
