GBU - thank dog it's the weekend edition

Good - It's Friday - WOOT! Bad - It's Friday and it's Beach Day at work - WTF?! Ugly - There's a contest for best painted toes. I hate feet. I also fear how much skin I will see at work today Good - Things are WAY too busy lately Bad - Things are WAY too busy lately and I have forgotten to go grocery shopping. Lunches have been..er...interesting Ugly - Things are WAY too busy lately and I fall asleep on the subway...and lean over on people Good - GDT GTG tonight Bad - Last time we had a little "stalker" incident post GTG so the wheres and whens are being kept secret Ugly - How it might get if a couple of people who aren't on the list, but have mentioned on the boards that they may pop by, show up. Don't know how one person knows about it... Could get INTERESTING Good - I made a lot of great "connections" and found a lot of great blogs as a result of PodCamp last weekend Bad - I have found an unhealthy addiction to things like twitter, searching through utterz and now looking at ooVoo as a result of PodCamp last weekend Ugly - when I found out I was banned from twitter yesterday. How sad am I? Almost as sad as the 50 unread feeds I now WAKE UP TO Good - I have plans do to NOTHING but go to the gym and catch up on the sleep I missed this past week on the weekend - WOOHOO Bad - I have a feeling I will spend my weekend cleaning up the house Ugly - I have a feeling it will still be messy and Monday will come too soon Good - Three days at the gym down, only need two more for my goal of five days a week Bad - I took yesterday off because I didn't charge my iPod, which could be seen as an excuse Ugly - Imagining the co-ed gym without the iPod and having to interact with the meat heads. Excuse pardoned, methinks Good - when women don't let things labeled "men's work" stop them from doing the work themselves Bad - Mag Ruffman doing the work Ugly - Mag Ruffman pimping herself doing the work and using the words "hard," "insertion," and "cheap & easy" over and over in a tv interview. How does this woman not piss other women off?

Beach day? Good times! I think we should suggest that at work. I think I'm with you though - how much of your co-workers do you really want to see???

Marie - been stalking your blog for a while...I know, I know. But I've decided to come out of the closed because yesterday I signed up for WW on line and, well, I could use the support. I'm also a runner(1/2 marathon and 10 km-er) and a gym goer (Goodlife locations throughout the GTA - name one and I've probably been to it). Just thought I'd let you know I'm lurking and may turn to you for some ideas and the occasional kick-in-the-a$$.
Thanks! Sally (smmurdock (at) gmail (dot) com ).

50 feeds? How do you avoid info overload? (Seriously, if you have tips, I would LOVE to hear them.) I am in a constant state of anxiety about how much interesting information I'm missing every day... using Twitter would double or triple the pressure to keep up I think! Do you think your interest will wear off with time?

I worry that people spend so much time Facebooking and Twittering that they don't have time for their real lives -- have you seen this in friends/colleague? Like at the conference I was just at, a guy beside me was twittering all through the talk we were at. I just kept thinking that it was similar to those people who enjoy their vacation through the lens of their video camera -- it feels like we just can't sit back and take something in, unmediated, and without interruptions these days!

I wish I could join you guys for the GTG tonight but will try really hard for the next one at least. Hope everything goes okay!

I heart your GBU editions. I don't know why but I do. I saw today's title and immediately got all happy. :) Ya, I'm weird.

And now I want to know about the GTG stalker. I've apparently been away from the boards far tooooo long and missed out on the dirt. I hope you guys have a good night and no one tries to poo-poo your fun!!

I was rereading what I wrote and just wanted to be clear that my musings weren't intended in any way to be a criticism of your newfound love of Twittering :) I got an account a while back but pretty much abandoned because I didn't know anyone else to Twitter *to*! lol

mere - you kill me! I am not that hardcore about commenting on EVERY blog I read. A lot are current affairs, urban affairs, tech blogs that I wouldn't possibly comment on for fear of looking stupid.

as for twittering, I can see it becoming far too life consuming so I treat it like updating my facebook status and sometimes commenting @someone if it applies to me. feel free to find me and add me if you ever venture back (and anyone else if they start up).

Nat -I've seen too much skin so far and it's only 10am. I fear for when the festivities kick off at 1300.

Bionic - search for abby44 on the boards. there was drama.

Sally - welcome! and you have mail ;)

Woo hoo! It's Friday and there's a GBU post! Life is good :)

Ha, I must sound like a psycho when I comment :) I think I tend to write a lot about tech to you because no one else I know brings these topics up. You get the brunt of my weird musings.

Anyway, I don't even mean commenting -- I mean just READING it all. I've currently whittled my RSS feeds (combination of local / friend / ww / tech / other blogs) down to ~40 and get stressed just keeping those under control. You sound so much more hardcore than me. :)

Anyway, I can't find you on twitter at the moment (email search is currently disabled, and mousearoo didn't work) but I'm "meredi" if you feel like looking for me. Since I've only posted once you won't be increasing your info anxiety by adding me ;)

LOVE the GBU!!! I, like Bionic, was SOOOOO excited to see it!!! (and I have been checking out twitter as well, seems very cool!!)

I also laughed out loud at your "feet" comment, poor mouse...hopefully there aren't any speedos at your work beach...

I am heading over to the GDT now to check out some drama...my friday has been pretty lackluster...

There had BETTER be a TO get-together when I finally make my way there...either that, or there will be "stalk"age involved ;p

I made the mistake of only bringing flip-flops in as beachwear and won a prize in the pretty toes contest.

The "head-cheese" said my toes were a little too goth for the office though.

Still won me a mug but got beat by a man.

silliness.

I'm glad you only brought flip-flops. Good girl and congrats!

What did the other crazies in your office wear?
