So fresh and so clean...

Today is the day we begin again. Fridays will now be my WI day and I'm ready to face the world. ...until I saw the number on the digital devil. 150.7 You've GOT to be joking me. So I hopped on the analog angel 145 Well then, that's the kick in the arse I need. I've decided I'm going to lose 10 on the digital as my goal this by the end of next month. It always hovered around 140 since the day I got it out of the box, and 10 according to the angel as it showed me at 135 as my lowest (I was always splitting the difference). I was conflicted whether or not I should even type out those numbers, but I'm glad I did. As well, if they don't go down and I can't make this work like I have in the past, I've decided to join meetings to see what I can do. And to make myself super duper uncomfortable and ensure I stay within my points, I stuffed my butt into those jeans that wouldn't go on yesterday. They are currently giving me a lovely muffin top that I didn't have this time last year. Loverly. But speaking of new resolves, kicks in the pants and motivation, our dear friend Antonia Z has a new bloggo over at Thestar.com. Make sure you view the YouTube clip. Well written, acted and edited :P So if Zerb is back on board, I am 110 per cent.

You can definitely do it! You have all the tools, just look at what you have done in the past! And it seems like you are doing all the right things to make sure that you are on track and using the "tools" that you have learned during your past weight loss.

I find that publishing my weight on my blog makes me feel like I am owning up to the number. It really helps me and I feel like I am being held accountable, like someone will see if I gain - or congratulate me if I lose.

Digital devil...ha, that is too funny. I feel that way about my scale often!

2 scales - interesting strategy! I consider tight jeans as inspiration to get my butt in gear, so good job on wearing those today!

Haha, the 2 scales thing is cracking me up!! I thought I was obsessed, weighing myself daily (eventhough I've told myself NOT to on countless occasions!) on my one, trusty old WW digital. I DO avoid scales in other people's bathrooms in fear that they'll be 'heavier' than mine. Too funny.

Anyway, best of luck with your goal! Though it sounds like a lot, I've always found that after some major pigouts, dropping the excess poundage is generally not TOO hard.

OOOH, she is a devil...

I agree though, posting the numbers (and wearing the jeans) make it real and should give you the kick in the butt (or the muffin top) to put you over the edge!!!

I am seriously contemplating joining meetings as well...they are $17 per meeting here...argh...though there aren't any sign up fees until February!!

I do that "stuffing my butt into tight pant for inspiration" thing as well!! :) I also own two scales. I try to be friends with the digital one... but, like yours, it's not always nice.

Good luck with you goal - I know you can do it!!!

Great goal. You can do it!

Kick some ass :).

sarah & thick - my scale dilemma is explained here.

It's not me being paranoid or obsessed with my weight or anything that I would NEED to use two, I just don't trust one or the other now...

Scales are a pain in the butt, eh? Mine is always different the the WW scale. I always try to figure out the difference and therefore I'll know what I'll weigh at WW the next week, but it never works. It's always different.

Good luck in losing the weight you want to lose this year. Just remember to not be too hard on yourself as this is a lifestyle change and there will be ups and downs (man, I should take my own advice sometimes ;-)

Ahh I get it now. I have a digital scale which I love because it seems more accurate and I love seeing decimal place losses, but you have one that shows body fat percentage!! Jealous.

I want one really bad. Ever since my personal trainer measured my body fat, now I have a goal, but no way to measure it!

My scale drives me mental - I have to step on it three times and average the 3, because it shows a number 0.5-2lbs different everytime. Sheesh.

Brave of you to post and be honest about this! I've been scared to post about my weight, but hiding the weight updates on a page, rather than posting upfront about it. Better get over myself and just do it!

my digital scale shows me 6 pounds heavier than the analog as well... so i always went by the analog.

good luck!

We have one of those digital scales with the body fat percentages, and the fluctuations on repeated reweighing are really amusing.

If I'm retaining water and feeling bummed about tight pants, the body fat thing swings way low, as though I've magically lost fat by retaining water.

But as goofy as scales are, they do at least supply a sense of whether you're going down or up. Good luck on next downswing--you sound way motivated.

So Antonia kicked your ass into gear too eh? I managed a 5k tonight. My first bit of activity in ohhhh TWO FREAKIN' MONTHS!

Hey, we weigh the same now. I might knock 5 lbs off, we'll see. I'm not so much minding my weight as I am my crappy fitness level. That was the hardest run ever tonight!

Funny that you torture yourself with the muffin top jeans :O)

Question...why are you still juggling two scales? Doesn't it drive you bonkers?

Angie All The Way said...

Hmmmm, I thought that scale went out the window a long time ago! We love to torture ourselves in some ways don't we? I step on the scale more than I should, even if I know that it's not going to show me a good number (torture??)

We gotta be hard on ourselves though or we don't get pushed.

That's awesome that you posted your numbers and are wearing your pants. It's makes you uncomfortable and now forces you to change it to become comfortable again. I conveniently forgot to post my WI this week...first time ever when I was actually home to do it.

Own that muffin top girl and set her free! lol

haha! I do the muffintop jean thing too!

You know, it's really nice to see you gain and watch you get your butt in gear to make it go down (not that I ever WANT to see people gain.) But you've done so much and come such a far way it's nice to see you're still human and can be real with all of us. Very motivating, lady.

Hey Marie ...

It's good you're getting your butt back in gear. You have to nip these things in the bud. Take it from me. :-(
