9:32a.m. my office phone rings. It's a woman I'm scheduled to meet with at 9:30a.m. who has HOUNDED me for two weeks to set up some training for her. She is calling from home to inform me that she will not be attending training due to a subway closure in Scarborough. She will call me in the New Year to reschedule. Now, if I was scheduled for training that began at 9:30a.m. in the downtown core and I lived in Scarborough, taking public transportation to get to my destination (which I do. I do NOT own a car and I have to visit clients in Markham even, thank you very much), I get up bright and early, check the news, the weather, that transit isn't delayed, etc. to make sure I can get there on time. If I can't, my sorry behind is calling in regrets at that ungawdly hour to let them know I will not be in attendance, not two minutes AFTER I'm supposed to be there. I'm not mad about losing the couple hundred buckaroos I was going to make in training fees today, but the time I wasted in preparing a day when I could have spent it preparing a session for tomorrow and the next day. Plus I have a freakin headache and I want to be at home. But please, for the love of god, EXERCISE SOME FREAKIN TACT!!! Make a simple phone call. It's the courteous thing to do.

The way people act in the GTA area astounds me. It is one of the worst things about living here.
