did i tell you about the one where i was lapped...

By a kenyan? Scotia was good. Not great, but good. Half way through I decided not to give it my all. Starting almost 8 minutes after the gun my goal of a 2 hour half was never going to happen so I wanted a 2:05, but I gave up on that too and treated the run as a normal LSD, doing my 10:1s and not killing myself. This was to only prove to myself that I COULD DO IT. and i did. Gun time of 2:15:35 (and the Kenyan FULL MARATHONER came in at 2:09 - granted HE didn't have to start almost 8 mins back - HMMPH) and a chip time of 2:08:27. Only gets better from here, I say. We'll see how much I'll improve at Toronto in two weeks :)

Perfect I'd say-you've left some room on the table for two weeks from today. Now that the feeling of glory has subsided things are starting to hurt....

2. i hate those fast people!!!! my first 1/2 i ran 2:23, and have continued to improve ever since... but i'll never be a fastee like those guys... even if i trained nonstop... grr..great for them...but sometimes it drives me nuts!!!

Bravo Girlie! You did it!!It feels good to accomplish the race we have been working on for months...although there were times yesterday when I went on a mental holiday and didn't want to be there and told myself that I am not doing another one again (which I know I will)but I was reminded this morning that it sounds a bit like childbirth(OK not quite the same)but similar in how quickly you forget the pain.My official time was 2:28..and my chip was 2:22..so I am pleased-my goal was 2:30& if I could find the 2:15 bunny I was going to attempt it. My 2:30 bunny was CRAZY...all over the map with her speed.I can't wait to see your Toronto results! I am so VERY happy for you and your time! The marathon female winner was just a couple of minutes behind me - truly amazing! CS

Marie - sounds like you had a great and amazing race!!!!! It is actually perfect that you treated it like a LSD so you will be well rested for 2 weeks out! You have inspired many people to push themselves and some to start running!!!
