something completely foreign...

out there today. it's the sun. it's shining so brightly and I'm so unprepared for it. It's supposed to be a whopping 15 degrees in the Tdot today and I have realized I'm so not ready for spring. I was taking a look in my closet this morning, trying to get ready for work and I literally had NOTHING to wear. The polo shirt I eventually picked out to wear to work today is way too big and I look so sloppy. Then the cute little light jacket I bought last year to replace my old one (and was excited to buy because it was a size 10) is a bit tent like on me (mostly because I have "zero in the bin" as my brother affectionately says - who loves ya, jeep?). It's funny - people write about how excited they get to lose weight so that they can go shopping and fill their wardrobes with tiny new clothes but it gets depressing after awhile. I can't take the purges all of the time!!! Taking the jacket out of the picture, a lot of the stuff in my closet wasn't bought too long ago. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to find clothes that fit me and make me feel pretty, not like a schlep. Hmmph! On the bright side, I am excited to be able to wear less clothes out running tonight. No more jackets and mittens or long pants! Of course all of my running clothes fit. hmmm...maybe I just have my shopping priorities all mixed up.

Haha.. I'm like you Marie, ALL my workout clothes fit like a glove. And to be honest, i probably spend more time in them then I do my work clothes!

As for step: Not to toot my own horn, but I'm a pretty advanced stepper... so the moves were a little basic for me. BUT, there was a lot of different stuff that I had never done before which was kinda cool. I'd say definately give it a shot!

Simply solution, run ALL the time!! Even in the office, that way no one will question why you are wearing running gear!!! *laughs*

That really sucks...I hate that I keep buying all these lovely things and then next year, it will be different lovely things...at least we can't get bored...or save money, because really, that would be such a pain...

I know exaclty what you mean about the purging. People would always say, "you must feel so great getting into a smaller size!" and at first, I really was. But by the time I took my 7th bag of old clothing to the consignment store, I realized that It's not as great as it seems. I can't be running out and buying a whole new wardrobe everytime I drop a size...that gets pricey! But it the end, I do feel much better than I ever did so it's a trade off.
As for 'The Secret', some of it really is common knowlegde but there are some really GREAT parts that really make you think...definitely worth a read or a watch. It will make you more aware of you negative thoughts, which in turn will change them to positive thoughts!
The sun is shining in NB too!! YAY! Finally! Time to dig out the sandals??

I hear you. On the bright side, at least your weight consistently went down. Before this last almost-year on WW, I've fluctuated 30 pounds since highschool and have a closet that reflects it - really 4 different-size closets in one.

I can't wait to keep the size 4-6 closet and be gone of the rest for good, as opposed to hanging on to everything else 'just in case'.

Can you have any of the pieces tailored, or at least a few that you really like? It's probably less expensive than buying e.g. a new blazer.

i know what you mean, it gets depressing when you're excited to wear something but then it looks too big, as nice as some people may think that is, it's hard. it's expensive to buy new clothes. although, i always love an excuse to shop!!!

changing wardrobes is probably the only downside to weight loss!! I have 3 different wardrobes (from different weight stages). I'm in the middle right now so some things I have are too big, some too small. I much prefered when most things were too big though...at least I knew I wasn't in my "danger zone"! :)

i can't wait for my clothes to be too big. they are definitely looser but still are not too big

ho-kay.

one, i said that awful red stripey shirt made you LOOK like you have zero in the bin. YOU said you actually have zero in the bin. but you also said you're fat, so clearly your judgement is way off.

two, i can't believe you baited me out. dude! :P

I totally know what you mean about purging all the time. I have gone down 4 pant sizes since August 2006. It was fun at first, but now jeans I bought in March are too big. I don't have the money to replace all my clothes! And like you said, I have nothing to wear because I really haven't replaced anything. It's okay because I'm still in grad school for another month, but what happens when I start a new job?

I know exactly how you feel. I worked so hard to get to "goal" so that I can wear all my skinny clothes again. Yah well my idea of skinny then, and skinny now are completely different because all of that skinny clothes is baggy on me now. I reallllly don't want to buy new clothes! I like the stuff I have.

I guess you'll have to go and get some spring clothes hey? Have fun :O)
