jam(mer) makes plans sticky...

My friend Jammer (Janet) moved back home from Vancouver recently. We went to college together and even lived together for awhile. She's wicked fun, much like a kid sister and I totally adore her, even when she's whiny ...which is a lot. he he he She's working around the corner from my office for the next month, which is really nice. We can have coffee whenever we want, go for lunch, drinks after work to troll for men (I LOVE working in the financial district!!!), whatever. But I'm wondering if it's such a good idea after all. I am the type of person who has a ready-made lunch for work everyday to avoid the greasy food court food, whereas Jammer will eat out everyday of the week, eat whatever she wants and still look fabulous. I'm caving today and having lunch with her but I don't know that I can do this for the whole month. Must think of creative ways of getting out of lunch a few days a week... ...then there's evil duckworth's fish and chips tomorrow, a tradition on Good Friday in my family that would eat up my entire points for the day if it were not for FP. save me!

Hey Marie,
It's great to hang out with old friends but I wouldn't worry too much about the lunches. Try asking jammmer if she wants to eat in a food court opposed to restaurants so that you can bring your lunch with you and she can eat whatever she wants from the food court or make her a lunch too. Get her to try something healthy that way you can still spend time together without hitting your points too much. Have fun on Friday, good luck and thank god we have flex points. have a great day :)

Suggest home made lunches and a park bench so that you can watch the man eye candy strolling by...

I like Shirls' idea...I HATE being thrown curveballs...or you could gain some APs chasing after yummy men!!

Along the same lines as what Shirls said - if she doesn't like to cook, you could offer to make the two of you a 'picnic lunch' for a couple of the days. If she's willing to pack a lunch, you could do potluck-style, too.

shirls - idea IS great but it's -4 and snowing right now. I have convinced her to start bringing a lunch though! WHEEEE!

OH yay! That's great! I would totally be feeling the same way. With the nice weather park bench picnics etc. will be doable hopefully. I'm Jammer will understand your resistance to eat out in greasy places all the time too.

I'm glad you got her on plan to bring a lunch. I mean the savings alone should make her feel good.
