Switcheroo

I still have no energy - blah! I've decided to do a few things to see if they'll help...
  • keep running at night so I can get more sleep - I cannot drag my rear out of bed before 7a.m. for some odd reason...
  • replace treats with fruit - my body wants sugar, but I can get it from fruit, which I usually hate but I have to suck it up
  • only use flex for treats, but not ALL OF THEM - sometimes I may skimp on a meal for a treat or snack and I end up with something PROCESSED instead of more protein or something worthwhile.
  • watch my water - I think I may have skimped a little in the past few days and increased my coffee instead. With my stress and tiredness, I haven't noticed. Must be more diligent in keeping track of how many times I'm filling up the big green jug.
any other suggestions, oh wise ones? I'm all eyes :)

i have no energy either - could be the weather or the time change or because i'm a year older now... i think what you listed sounds pretty good, can't think of anything else really - maybe adding more protein but i think you said that... :-)

I'm not a fan of fruit either - I do love my veggies though! More water is always a good idea.

I hope you get rid of your blahs soon :)

Hey Marie
I too am so tired in the mornings to try to exercise so I will run tonight. It is free run at the running room right :) For a snack I find a fat free latte really fills me up and does not make me crave anything afterwards. I even bought the sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup from starbucks, the whole bottle was like 15 bucks and I make my own lattes at home....yummers
well have a great run tonight
:)

I am also having a hard time this week. I think it has to do with the clock change.

Your plan sounds like a good one. More water, more fruit, less processed junk and changing your exercise routine should help. It takes time, though.

I have a deal with myself. I have a couple of coffees in the morning. After that, I drink only water until I've had the minimum 6 glasses required. Then, and only then, do I have something else to drink. This is how I managed to reduce my 2L Diet Coke per day habit to 1 glass (if that much, anymore).

Sounds good. I'm the same way - no energy, bad attitude, just grumpy. I think it's the season for it... we're at the end of winter as it's dragging it's sorry ass and we're awaiting spring. Tis the season... ugh....

make sure you get outside regardless of the weather, its amazing how much Vitamin D a body needs and can soak up rain or shine

drink up that water, nothing like water to perk you up, even if that perk is only to make you get up to go potty ;)

I hear you about the no energy...I think I'm going to try some of your ideas. I'm with Shirls too, I think it's time to get outside as much as possible! It helps that the weather is getting better :D

I think you've pretty much got it covered here.. The running at night is a great idea.. NO WAY would I be getting up at 7am to go running!! lol!!

Spending more time outside would probably help too, yeah.. Especially with this great weather, it's not a chore just to be out there.. Good luck!! I hope you feel more energized soon!!

Do you take a multi-vitamen? I have been slack these past few weeks on taking mine and I think I'm going to get in gear to make sure to take it. I have been very sluggish too, but I'm pretty sure it's the time change for me.

Girl, so are SO diligent!!! I love reading things like this though because I think "I could do that too!!" I am such a chocolate fiend, but with summer coming there are all those yummy, juicy fruits that are super fresh, so I think that is a great idea!!

Also, since the days are getting longer, you have that in your favor for running...I hate working out first thing in the morning...but now my gym has changed their hours to a half hour later, so that is not an option anymore!!!

You are a machine Marie!

101 ways to get good night sleep

1.The bedroom should not be too hot or too cold. High temperatures can lead to disturbances in the quality of sleep. The optimum temperature is 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. If the room is too cold, use humidifier or warm blankets.

2.Don’t discuss about the bills or problems or watch television in the bedroom.

3.Drinking warm milk before going to bed helps in soothing the nervous system. As milk contains calcium, it works on the nervous system and makes the body relax.

4.Sleep on back as it allows all the internal organs to rest properly and it is the best position for relaxing.
