Skinny heels can bring you back in time

Today I'm doing everything different. "Screw the gym!" I shouted (in my head) at 5:30a.m. this morning and went back to bed until 7:30a.m. It was a good decision. I'm throwing caution to the wind and wearing brown shoes with a black purse because I love these boots. They have a pointy toe and a skinny heel. This is something I would NEVER do but I did not feel like emptying out my bag this morning. I decided to take a completely different route to work this morning which lead me to Yonge and Dundas Square. Now, for those of you who aren't from the Tdot, we've had some Australia in T.O. type deal hogging the Square (which really isn't a square...) and when I tried to cut through it from Ryerson to Yonge St. I couldn't without walking across subway grates. Oh bugger. So my options were to turn back around and walk around the square or cut down the TTC stairwell and walk through the Eaton Centre and the PATH to work. I chose the latter. I now know why I do this so infrequently. 1. It's too warm down there and you sweat your arse off when wearing a down coat. 2. The evil temptresses that are the food courts. I actually shuddered watching a guy buy a big croissant at Mrs. Field's, shook my head at the people lined up at Starbucks for the fattening lattes & scones (but secretly yearned for an americano & pumpkin scone!!), wondered why the hell Dairy Queen opened before 9a.m., was aghast at the number of people sitting in front of McDonald's and was glad I am NOT a fan of cinnamon buns because St. Cinnamon's stuff looked ALL WRONG. But how can people function on all of that sugar and fat to start of their day? oh wait...that was me before. Good thing I clicked my heels three times and got to my office where my yogourt and oatmeal were waiting for me. ahhh. there's no place like home...er, the office. ew! did i just type that?

*laughs* yeah it certainly sounds like you weren't in Kansas anymore, Dorothy!!!

Good for you for bypassing all the icky (though, sometimes yummy) foods!!! I hate food courts for that very reason!!!....though I do love starbucks (non-fat green tea latte...mmmm)

:) Cute post. I've always wondered how people could eat sticky sweet stuff in the morning. I never could - even in my 'fat years'. Although those fattening coffees are delish.... just not TOO early. :) Good for you for your yogourt and oatmeal. :)

Lately I look at places like McDonald's and Dairy Queen and feel the same way. It is so great to be able to look at those places from the outside! Those meals don't even appeal to me anymore.
